Africa and UNO

Again, it's been a while since we updated the site. We've continued recording tracks for our next album, and we've really focused on that, but now we're gonna start doing gigs again. We did a consert, while collecting money to people in need in Africa, at Blåsut and next friday we're gonna perform at the big stage on UNO in Karlstad, on Kulturnatten. 22.15 - don't miss it. It's gonna be a great show.

We're also gonna do a kind of live-consert-video-recording, come this november. Stay tuned for more info soon!

 

New Album

The last few months has kept us all busy, but now we've resumed our rehearsals, and we have also resumed our recordnings for official album #2!
All percussion's been made (f.e Marimba and Xylophone - awsome!) and for the moment we're doing some re-takes with the guitars to get a big, fat sound.
We're also writing some new, fresh material and have begun planning our gigs for this spring and summer. Stay tuned for more! Until then, check this out from last december:

Break

We've taken a short break, due to recent events. Last august we recorded the ground material for our new record, an we're pleased! We've been writing new material as well, and soon we'll head into post-production and do some re-takes.
Also, don't miss our only two gigs before X-mas: November 19th and December 11th!

 

Spotify

We've played our gigs at Nojesfabriken, and they all went well! And we now also own a real cool backdrop - thanks to Gotlinds Svets AB - and we're very satisfied.
We'll now take a break from live performances for about a month, and we'll prepare for our next recording, come this August. The new album will contain about 10 songs, and it'll be a lot of fun rehearsing/recording them.
Also, in about a week or so, you should be able to find us at Spotify and we're allready at iTunes - try it!

 

NEWS

14-June-10

We ended up at 10th place out of 600 in the National Final of ROCKKARUSELLEN, and we're very satisfied with our gig. There were many great bands, and congrats to Clara, who won it all!
  We've recorded a music video for CHANGING LANES with the help of Fredrik Degeryd, and you can find it under MEDIA.

A lot more have happened as of lately: We've had our official release of CHANGING LANES, giged at VIKSHOLMSFESTIVALEN and RED HOUSE ROCKS, KARLSTAD STADSLOPP and NOJESFABRIKEN.
  In July you can see as performing at SOMMARGARDEN @ NOJESFABRIKEN, KARLSTAD. Dates are coming up.
We're also in the planning stages of our next recording, and we're thrilled!

 

Spring-gigs

We won the districtfinal of the contest ROCKKARUSELLEN, which means we'll perform at the final in UPPSALA 29th of May. We'll have a huge bus with fans, so if wanna tag along - just send us a mail.
We'll also perform at VIKSHOLMSFESTIVALEN (Arvika) 28th of May - don't miss it!

Tonight we will perform our second gig in the contest Rockkarusellen
This is the second part of three in the contest, and the last gig went well, and we had a lot of fun.
We're hoping tonight will be as fun as well.

Mixing...

All recording's finished, and we're in the mixing and mastering-phase. We're aiming at to have it finished by 13th och December. The gig at Kyrkeruds FHS went very well, and we had a lot of fun...

Recently we finished our week in the studio, recording our new album "Changing Lanes" (previously called "You got it in you"). We're very staisfied with what we've accomplished, and now we'll do re-takes and add-ons. We'd also like to thank Pär for his time in the band, and welcome Linus Lösegård as our new alto-saxophonist

 

New album!

We're in the final stages of re-making our previous record, "Mostly in C-major" (now titled "Dreams of youth") and in late august this year we'll spend a week in the studio at Ingesund, to record our new album (containing only NEW songs) "You got it in you".

Our story...

Back in autumn 2006, Emil Karlsson began creating songs for a new band, at Ingesund Academy of Music. Through the years, he had written songs for various groups and soloprojects he'd done, and now he wanted to do something different. He wanted to write music for a bigger ensemble - not just the basic instrument such as bass, guitars, piano and drums. He had written a few songs that included trumpet (most often played by his wife to be, Erica) but now the band extended further. With trumpet, saxophones, trombone, violin and mandolin the band was complete, and in autumn 2007 the band Emil & the Warmlanders was established.
